About Me

I’m a Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and British Association of Music Therapy (BAMT) registered music therapist. My main instrument is the bass guitar, but I also enjoy playing the guitar, keyboard, ukulele and singing.

I have always had a passion for music from a young age and grew up playing in local bands. I was drawn to the music therapy profession after seeing the incredible impact music had on two family members who suffered with ill health. I was amazed by the way it supported their rehabilitation both physically and cognitively, communication and overall wellbeing. This then inspired me to complete a PGCert in Sounds of Intent and my music therapy master’s degree at UWE in Bristol.

I have a broad range of experience working with different client groups such as adults with acute mental health difficulties (including depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and PTSD), children with special educational needs and social, emotional and mental health disorders and elderly people diagnosed with dementia.

I bring a holistic and person-centred approach to my music therapy work and aim to create a safe non-judgemental environment that allows clients to explore music, creativity, mindfulness and verbal communication within the therapeutic space.

Alongside my music therapy career, I work as a community musician running music workshops for various charities and music hubs with a focus on wellbeing and inclusion. I’m also a performer and hold an undergraduate degree in music performance. I have been lucky enough to travel the world playing bass, guitar and singing backing vocals for artists for the past 12 years.
