“All my jumbled thoughts went into straight lines when I put them into a song which helped me understand things. My bad experience is moving away into the distance”

— TEENAGE GIRL

“Another truly inspirational set of songs and videos. I particularly like the way you have helped the pupils to develop their resilience and confidence through the medium of music. The work is very impressive. Thank you for all you are doing to develop this work at Silverwood School.”

- MIKE LOVERIDGE, DIRECTOR OF LEARNING, SILVERWOOD SCHOOL

“A massive thank you from me. You were perfect! These projects always require a bit of patience and understanding and I thought your input was bang on. To make a difference to prisoners in a relatively short period of time makes these interventions totally worthwhile”

“Music therapy has helped me work through my personal issues.  Writing a song with Will has made me realise that things are not as bad as they could be.  It has helped me focus on the positive and understand that I have many good things in my life.  Before I came to the Rhythm Practice I wasn’t coming to school, but I am now back in school every day.”

— YEAR 9 PUPIL, CORSHAM SCHOOL

Well done! The song is SO great and really reflects the young carers and their experiences. I love the production - straight out of teenagers bedroom! Thank you so much for your involvement.

Will is a talented and dedicated Music Therapist and we have been lucky to have him working with us at 'Mindsong, Music for Dementia'. His reflective, flexible approach has been invaluable in his work with people with late stage/complex dementia, where he has sensitively tailored his work in creative ways to support individual needs. Will has been an asset to our team and we will miss him, but wish him all the best with his own practice!

“Will offered incredible music therapy support to one of our pupils. The child thrived when she was with him, her confidence grew and she produced one of the most moving pieces of work I’ve ever seen in a child so young."

— KIRSTY ROBSON, HEAD TEACHER, ST MICHAEL’S PRIMARY SCHOOL, WINTERBOURNE

"What I have regularly seen during your interactions with patients on our complex care unit can only be described as absolutely beautiful, and to see the sheer joy that the patients are getting from your sessions is wonderful."

— THERAPY SERVICES MANAGER, ADULT MENTAL HEALTH CENTRE

The partnership between The Rhythm Practice and The Corsham School has been incredibly encouraging. Will has been able to work with and support some of our most vulnerable students at a time where their lives have been turned upside down during the Covid-19 pandemic. All students who have had weekly sessions with Will have seen an increase in attendance, a reduction in behaviour points and incidents but most importantly intangible developments such as a greater self-esteem and confidence. The latter have been prevalent when the students have been returning to school to show key members of staff the music they have created with Will, all of which is tremendous and actually resulted in a member of our behaviour team being quite overwhelmed. This is a very worthy project which includes the local Arts Centre and will continue to have a significant impact on the young people at Corsham School for some time.

CHRIS SMITH, DEPUTY HEAD TEACHER (PASTORAL), CORSHAM SCHOOL

"We had been recommended to look for a music therapist for our daughter. She loves everything about music but really struggles with her anxieties and has ADHD and autism. Music is her release. We were very fortunate to find Will who has helped give our daughter the confidence and encouragement to write songs and perform. We wholeheartedly recommend Will as a music therapist."

"Your therapeutic work has been excellent and you have showed nothing but care and support to this very complex patient group."
