The Rhythm Practice.
The Rhythm Practice, founded by Will Lawton in 2020, is based at The Pound Arts Centre in Corsham—a vibrant community hub with private parking and a café. Just a short walk from the town centre, it’s also near the beautiful, accessible grounds of the Corsham Estate.
As our reputation for meaningful, impactful work has grown, so has our team of freelance therapists, each maintaining autonomy over their practice. We operate as a supportive collective, sharing work and enquiries as appropriate. While music therapy is our core focus, we are often involved in innovative projects connecting arts, health, and well-being.
Music Therapists.
All our therapists have completed a rigorous, masters degree training in music therapy. They are highly skilled musicians and qualified arts psychotherapists and are members of the British Association of Music Therapy (BAMT) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Each therapist carries enhanced DBS certification, has relevant insurance and safe guarding training and follows ALL policies as outlined in our master policies and procedures document. A copy of this document is available on request by enquiring here.

Our Therapy Studios.
While we can hire large spaces within the arts centre for group work, we have two private therapy studios at The Pound Arts Centre. Both are fully equipped with a wide range of acoustic and electronic instruments, recording equipment, and basic art materials, with additional space to sit and talk.
The Loft
Our original upstairs space is bright, airy, and predominantly white. As the larger of our two studios, it accommodates small group work. However, access is via a steep staircase, which may be challenging for those with mobility issues.
The Blue Room
Opened in 2024, this fully accessible, sound-proofed studio is located on the ground floor of the arts centre. Designed with accessibility in mind, it features an adjustable-height desk, air conditioning, and customisable lighting.
Outreach Work.
We provide music therapy and run related projects across Wiltshire, Somerset, and Gloucestershire, including Swindon, Bristol, Bath, and Salisbury, occasionally traveling further afield. Our work spans prisons, hospitals, care homes, private homes, and schools. Visit our ‘Projects’ section to learn more about our outreach. We also offer placement opportunities for master’s students training in Music Therapy.

Thank You.
The Rhythm Practice owes its existence to the generosity of over 100 individuals, families, friends, and supporters who contributed to our fundraising campaigns during the opening of our therapy studios. Each campaign has been a success, reflecting the enthusiasm and recognition of our work’s importance. These funds have primarily been used to acquire high-quality equipment for our studios.
Alongside these individuals, the following organisations also provided funding and donations:
