Spark Festival

Spark Highlights, July 2023

Once a year we team up with Rewired Counseling to help them deliver the wonderful Spark Festival. This is a one day festival of health and well-being held for Y9 pupils at The Corsham School. A plethora of well-being activities and signposting opportunities are spread across locations at The Pound Arts Centre and at the school campus.

This is a rare occasion where pupils that attend music therapy with The Rhythm Practice are given the opportunity to share their journey and some of the music they create during sessions. The audience, made of peers from the school pack the auditorium. It takes great courage and bravery for the pupils to do this and helps inspire other young people to seek help if they are struggling. After our presentation, we open the doors to the Rhythm Practice to allow pupils to come and see our studio space, play some music and ask questions about music therapy. Pupils are also given the chance to self-refer to the service. In 2023, 25 pupils requested sessions as a result of Spark Festival.
