About Me

With an extensive background in all elements of music-making and interaction, I was always drawn to music therapy as a profession: a way in which I could use my musical training to benefit others.  In addition to my music therapy masters, I’ve trained with the Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy and hold membership with the British Association for Music Therapy (BAMT).  I have clinical experience in brain injury rehabilitation and in neurodegenerative diagnoses, in mental health, autistic spectrum conditions, adults and children with learning difficulties, and much more.  My approach is flexible to the needs of the client and I pride myself on being adaptable when working towards therapeutic goals. 

I am predominantly a classically trained pianist and cellist and have worked as a private music teacher and music examiner for more than 15 years - a career which has taken me around the world.  In music therapy, I also incorporate the guitar, singing and percussion and am comfortable exploring a range of sounds and musical interactions. 

I am the co-founder and director of Music and Motherhood CIC - a weekly music therapy group for post-partum mothers and their babies - also based at the Pound Arts Centre.  I am also a facilitator of the Voices of Aphasia Wiltshire choir and a community musician in a range of settings including care homes, in dementia care and with Parkinson’s choirs.  

Alongside my therapeutic and musical work, I am also an experienced voice actor and have narrated a number of audiobooks and worked across a variety of commercial projects.  Sometimes, I integrate this training into more receptive techniques in music therapy practice. 

When I’m not working, I’m spending time in the outdoors with my family - rambling, camping and adventuring; otherwise, you’ll find me catching up with the Formula 1!
