Our Approach to Therapy

We offer a blended and bespoke approach to therapy, recognising that words alone are not always enough. At times, talking can feel overwhelming, so we draw on a range of creative forms to support expression. Although our therapists are predominantly trained in music therapy, sessions are not limited to music. We use traditional psychotherapy, music therapy, creative arts therapy and therapeutic songwriting as pathways to understanding and communication.

A programme of therapy often weaves together elements of these approaches. We move thoughtfully between mediums as the work unfolds, responding to the needs of each client. Through collaboration, reflection and creative exploration, we support individuals in expressing and making sense of their inner experience.

Each therapist brings their own strengths, experience and personal qualities to their practice. Our therapists work autonomously as freelance practitioners, with The Rhythm Practice providing a professional umbrella under which each is a practicing member.
